CELEBRATING 31 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE in QUALITY CARE!

Dear parents, Due to the COVID-19 virus we have had several parents decide to stay home with their children until further notice. While this is understandable, this presents a huge financial impact on our center. I am asking today that all parents submit their schedule of attendance TODAY for next week and beyond, via app/email or phone call so that we can plan accordingly in the best interest of the center. Our goal is to get through this crisis and be here for you when it's over. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, Angie Mapes/Director/Owner... Kiddiekarrasel@gmail.com

Dear parents,

During this very difficult time, I hope this message finds you and your families safe and healthy.  As you are probably aware, our center is still open and providing essential care for parents that work.  We are strictly adhering to the CDC, DHS, and IA Dept of Health guidelines.   https://dhs.iowa.gov/childcare-covid-19
The safety and health of everyone still remains our main priority.  My staff do not have to come to work if they are uncomfortable being there and must stay home if they show any signs of illness.  Due to a tremendous drop in enrollment, we have scaled our staffing to a bare minimum.  AmySue, Assistant Director, is facilitating the day-to-day business operations as I am on a short leave of absence caring for my sister who had major cancer surgery last week.   I am working remotely from home and corresponding directly with AmySue as needed throughout each day.

Thanks to all our wonderful families that have donated supplies, food and continue to pay their tuition. Thank you to the parents that can work from home for keeping your children home with you. We greatly appreciate it and our plan is to be here for you throughout this crisis and when our lives return to normal.  Thanks to all of my amazing staff and to AmySue for continuing to provide safe, quality care for our families.   Thanks to all of you that are essential workers.  You are all so appreciated more than words can say.
We currently have enough food and supplies to stay open and will monitor them closely.  We may shout out once in a while on facebook if we are running low on something.  And please do the same if we can help you in anyway.

Please remember to keep your children at home if possible, stay home if possible and follow the CDC guidelines to help STOP this virus.
Let’s all keep the positivity up and remember to keep smiling, laughing, singing, dancing and spreading LOVE
We'll do our best to stay connected and post activities you can do at home with your family on our website.
If you have any questions, please call the center and speak to AmySue - 563-289-3946 or you may email me or message us on the daily
connect app. or fb.  Please email or call the center with your schedule for next week so we can plan for staffing, activities and food.

Stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Angie Mapes/Director/Owner

Dear Kiddie Karrasel Academy Staff, Parents and Families:

CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

With regard to the current Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak, Kiddie Karrasel Academy is actively monitoring the situation and taking steps to maintain a safe learning environment for our children, families and staff.

At this time, we plan to stay open normal business hours.  If this should change, we will notify families asap.   We have diligently been stocking up on as many supplies as possible to get through this critical time.  However, some challenges we may face that could result in closing the center or being open fewer hours may include:  shortage of food, sanitary/safety supplies such as; soap, paper towels, gloves, Kleenex, toilet paper, cleaning and disinfecting supplies, shortage of staff due to sickness of staff and/or their children.

Starting March 16, 2020 as recommended on 3/14/2020 by DHS in response to COVID-19 we will:
1.  Implement common-sense practices for preventing disease spread, such as; covering a cough properly, staying home when sick, and washing hands.  (These practices are already in place)
2.  All parents must bring children into the building, sign in and drop off children at the front door entryway areas.  MAKE sure you release your child to a staff member.  Do not leave children alone!   Limiting adult entry to the facility.
Infant room staff come into the room and drop off by sign in area.
We will be limiting all visitors to the center.
3.  All adults/parent/staff need to inform KKA staff/Management of any travel plans to affected areas so that we can access any potential risks.  In addition, all families please inform us if you have any sickness in your household.
4.  Ensure that employees and children are not admitted to the center when ill.  No fever reducing medication will be given at the center, even with a Dr. signed permission. If we suspect a child or individual is ill, they will be sent home and will need to call their primary healthcare provider.  Healthcare Practitioners are equipped to screen individuals and to refer for additional testing.
5.  All field trips, large group events will be canceled.
6.  EXTRA Cleaning and disinfecting (using EPA registered disinfectant) frequently touched surfaces and objects that are in high touch areas will be conducted daily or/and as needed.
7.  Deep cleaning practices at the end of the week, and/or over the weekend will be conducted.
8.  We will continue to coordinate with local public health officials to stay up to date with this situation.
