When you choose Kiddie Karrasel Academy for your baby, you can feel confident your child is receiving high quality responsive care in loving, capable hands. We understand that leaving your infant in someone else's care is one of the hardest decisions a parent makes — and we are committed to making that transition as natural and reassuring as possible for both of you.

THE KKA DIFFERENCE

A Calm, Nurturing Environment
Our infant room is designed to feel warm, home-like, and secure. Caregivers spend generous amounts of time rocking, cuddling, and talking with your baby. Every care-giving routine — feeding, diapering, naptime — becomes a thoughtful opportunity to connect and nurture your child's growth.

Consistent, dedicated caregivers
Babies are assigned primary caregiver(s) who handle most daily routines (feeding, diapering, napping, play), building trust, security, and reliable bonds.

Baby-led, on-demand rhythm

Care follows each baby's individual cues for hunger and sleep rather than a rigid clock, while keeping a predictable order of events (eat, play, sleep) so babies know what comes next.

Personalized daily plans
Families partner with KKA from day one to build a schedule around their baby's unique needs, developmental level, and their own parenting style.

Support for parents' choices

KKA accommodates breast milk or formula feeding and cloth or conventional diapering, aiming for continuity between home and center.

Research-based, licensed care with open communication
As a licensed, NAEYC-accredited program, practices follow current infant health/safety research and Iowa licensing rules, and the director is always available to explain the "why" behind any practice or policy.

"We loved being a part of Kiddie Karrasel and can't thank the staff and Angie enough for providing a healthy and educational environment."

MORNING: A first bottle or breakfast, diaper checks, and a restful nap — all timed to your baby's individual cues, followed by a morning snack, tummy time, sensory play, and an outdoor stroll when weather allows.

ARRIVAL (7:00–9:00 AM): Warm greetings for you and your baby, with free play, floor time, or quiet activities as the morning gets underway.

A Glimpse of a Typical Day

AFTERNOON: A snack, diaper change, and playtime with reading, music, and social interaction — plus outdoor time when weather permits.

LATE AFTERNOON & PICK-UP (until 5:30 PM): A final diaper change and quiet cuddle time as families begin to arrive.

ON-DEMAND & GROWING RHYTHM: For babies 0–6 months, the day is guided almost entirely by your baby's own cues. As they grow, a more predictable rhythm naturally emerges, like two naps a day. Babies stay in our infant room through 18 months, with a warm, gradual transition to the next classroom when the time comes. Diapers are checked at minimum every two hours, or sooner as needed.

Bright, sunlit, spacious rooms: Our infant rooms are filled with natural light and offer more than ample space for babies to stretch, roll, and explore safely.

American Sign Language: Caregivers use ASL in daily routines, helping reduce frustration and support early communication and language development before babies can speak.

Music appreciation: Lullabies and playful rhythm activities support language development, emotional regulation, and joy from the earliest days of life.

Physical fitness: Tummy time, floor play, and outdoor fresh air support strong bodies, motor development, and growing minds.

Low ratios: We maintain staff-to-infant ratios that meet or exceed Iowa licensing and NAEYC standards, ensuring individual attention for every baby.
